What are the pros of using a virtual kitchen?
Virtual kitchen solutions have become a disrupter in the food and beverage industry. This is because of shifts in consumer behaviour coupled with technological advancements, all of which was expedited by the COVID pandemic.
Adapt, grow and scale restaurant business quickly
By owning and operating a virtual kitchen in Malaysia you will be able to be one step ahead of your F&B competitors. As of 2020, Malaysia's food delivery market is worth over $271m. Countless restaurants have tried to adapt, but have found it’s easier said than done. Cloud kitchens offer a pragmatic solution and are primed to help businesses in Singapore adapt, grow, and scale under the new norm.
Stay lean with lower upfront and operating costs
But most importantly, running a virtual kitchen allows you to reduce your businesses’ overhead by drastically cutting the cost of your rent, as well as the need for more employees. Going virtual means going lean, and by eliminating the FOH experience you can lower your overhead and focus on growing, and scaling, your very own food empire.

What is a Virtual Kitchen concept?
Virtual kitchens (or virtual brands) is a new food establishment concept which allows the restaurants or F&B brands to build and develop new food brands in ghost or dark kitchens (without a physical brick-and-mortar storefront). Virtual kitchens can cook up new brands quickly with a new menu in the same kitchen in just a few weeks.
How much does a virtual kitchen cost?
Compared to a traditional restaurant kitchen which costs from 500,000 to 750,000 MYR, a typical virtual (ghost) kitchen costs around 39,000 MYR to start operations. Most virtual kitchens are licensed for around 3000 MYR and above per month.
Are virtual kitchens profitable?
Yes, with minimal upfront investment and lower staff cost, it greatly reduces the upfront risk and operational costs. Together with a well-planned menu and marketing, virtual kitchens can test new concepts and earn decent profit.
